Residential leases tend to be the shortest of the four major food groups in commercial real estate, making this product type extremely susceptible to changes in market rents, and apartment projects can see huge swings in rental rates from one month to the next. But now, 14 months after everything went into lockdown mode, the economy is finally starting to reopen. And with that, multifamily is showing some extremely encouraging signs that make it one of the product types I’m most bullish on over the next 12 months.
