Simple tips if you're Dharma practice feels flat: 1. Recite: Om Mani Peme Hung 2. Walk around reciting the Mani mantra 3. Jumping jacks for a few minutes, then sit and do nothing for a minute 4. Sincerely ask Guru Rrinpoche and Tara to re-energize your practice: "Guru Rinpoche, please help me reconnect my love of Dharma." 5. Beam out love to someone you know who needs help 6. Eat some greens 7. Read a paragraph about an inspiring practitioner 8. Write down a line of Dharma you hold dear and repeat it 100X. 9. Turn your body to face a different direction while you meditate. 10. Love a pet, call an old friend, clean off a Dharma statue. After trying some simple things to re-connect to your practice, dedicate the merit so all beings can be fresh and uplift, including you! You probably just made millions of meritorious gifts to share with all beings! Especially by reciting the Mani mantra. Feel good about this and come back to your usual practice. Even just sit and meditate silently for 10 minutes, enjoying the glow of breathing. Sometimes keeping it super simple is the best way to get unstuck. If you continue feeling stuck for a longer while, write a letter to your Teacher. See if you can get some personal advice from them. Contemplate where you might be stuck. Often coming back to the basics is the best strategy: the Four Mind Turnings. 1. Life is precious. 2. Everything is impermanent. 3. Life is always challenging. 4. Cause and effect is how things always work. Recite the Refuge and Four Boundless Prayers 21X each. Coming back to basics can never go wrong. Often it's the best way to reinvigorate your practice.
