Hidden from the public, in the beautiful dunes at Valkenburg, lies a concentration of many bunkers and other underground structures. Build in the second worldwar by the Germans, in many circumstances built by their slave labor force. What remains now is what I call the bunker village. Situated in a dreamy dune surrounding. And some interesting graffiti from time to time. For me, this is the ‘bunker’ village. Technically I think these are not bunkers but underground quarters for soldiers.
