As I mentioned in the title my Video Pinball is running the Future Pinball Software and has a IPAC-2 Arcade button Encoder, I looked on the internet and in YOUTUBE for tutorials on how to add a coin acceptor to the IPAC-2 but did not find anything on that subject, maybe I did not use the correct terminology when searching I don't know, but I needed to get this working, so I did some testing, voltage measurements etc., the voltage from the white wire coming out of the coin acceptor labeled as coin has a voltage of 11V DC constant when 12V DC is applied to the power connection of the coin acceptor at 11V constant, when a Quarter is inserted the voltage drops to 10V DC slightly for a second then returns to 11.V I did not know how to apply that concept to the IPAC-2, to my understanding on the IPAC you connect the buttons by connecting one wire from the button to ground and the other to a terminal 1SW1, 1SW2, 1SW3 etc., when you press the button, it Grounds whatever terminal is connected to that button is I am working with Ground here I can't add the 11V to any terminal on the IPAC-2 it might damage it! so, what I decided to do was add a relay that can be activated by at least 3V DC that is the Voltage output I get from the Gray Counter wires on the coin acceptor when I insert a coin for a second then drops to 1V, I can work with that! the 3V will activate a relay that is a N/O normally open relay, closing the connection and providing a ground to the terminal on the IPAC it is connected to! that was my Idea and I put it together and it works! as I demonstrate in the second video to this one, here I will show what I did to get this done how I put it all together I'm sure there is an easier way of doing this adding a coin acceptor, but and please let me know what that is so I can adjust, I am a thinker and love to fix things and make things work, I compare the hack I did to make the coin acceptor work, as writing computer code that is too long to just accomplish one task when there is code you can use much shorter to do pretty much the same task Thanks for reading this it's a lot With Grate minds comes grate power or creation!
