Use a high-quality torch or temporary light fitting—do not rely on daylight through the hatch. PPE: Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Dust Mask/Respirator: Especially when handling insulation or if the loft is dusty. Safety Goggles/Glasses: To protect against falling dust and debris. Gloves: To protect hands from rough timbers and insulation fibres. Knee Pads: Essential when kneeling for extended periods on joists or boards. Tool Check: Always ensure your tools and equipment are in good working order before starting.
