Join Anna Spooner from the Tastings Team as she welcomes Alexis Deligny from one of the world’s most famous wines – Louis Roederer. In this exclusive event for Wine Society members, Alexis and importer, Mark Bingley MW, will discuss the key components that make the house so special. Under discussion will be the joys and challenges of being one of the last great Champagne houses that is still family owned, the bold strategy to buy parcels of vines to produce more terroir-driven wines and keeping one eye firmly on the natural world and nurturing the vines to produce the best possible wine. From their ever-popular non-vintage wines to the prestige cuvée, Cristal, and with an operation in Cailfornia, they really are a brand that can do anything and are a favourite of both our members and the wider world of wine. After an introduction to the house, the tasting segment of this event will focus on the 242 cuvée, their current iteration of the multi-vintage wine and a true 'classic' style, as well as the 2014 vintage and Quartet from California. Whilst you don’t need to purchase a wine to enjoy the event, we do encourage you to open a bottle of sparkling wine and celebrate (and of course, Roederer wines are very much encouraged!)
