We stared around 9 Am from Kaza and reached Langza aroud 10 AM. Langza is 16 km from Kaza at higher elevation (14300ft) . Greenfields besotted on brown hills and distinctive houses constructed in tradional Spiti style architecture sums up the representation of langza as a picture perfect place in trans Himalayan region of India. A massive statue of Lord Buddha guarding the hamlet is the tallest structure here, which is also the most popular picture of Langza on the internet Why it is called " Fossil Village of India " ? More than 200 million years ago,Langza and many other villages of Spiti were submerged under the ancient geological Tethys Ocean, . It is difficult to imagine that this land could have been a huge ocean. Around 50 million years ago, due to collision between the tectonic plates of two supercontinents (Laurasia and Gondwana),Tethys ocean disappeared. Fossils of marine animals living under Tethys sea are found today in Langza and neighboring villages. There is a Fossil centre in Langza from where you can buy Fossil and take them home as a sevoniuor . __________________________________________________________________________________ About the Trip We did a wonderful trip of Spiti Valley in mid Oct 2019. We started from Delhi on 12 Oct 2019. In this 9 days trip, we visited Nako, Gue,Tabo, Lari Village, Dhankar, Dhankar Lake , Lalung Village, Kaza, Tashigong, Kibbar, Chicham, Chicham Bridge , Hikkim, Komic, Langza, Mud Village (Pin Valley ) and Sarhan . We tried for Camping near Tabo but Army didn't allow us . I am trying to share my overall experience with all of you through my videos . So Guys !!
