My single “Celestial”, released independently in 2018 was made during one of the hardest times of my life and using it as the template for Daydream, I wanted to show people how far I’ve come not only in my production abilities, but as a person. Celestial, during a time of darkness was everything I wanted to feel emotionally. It was lighthearted, energetic and in my eyes inspiring which contrasted my reality. Years later through “Paper Skies”, I’ve been able to take the thoughts I had in my head as a child and transform them into a reality, acknowledging the faults of my past and coming to terms with myself that I’ve grown and become stronger. By fighting against the odds, I’ve managed to come out on-top and if a younger Dan could see me now, he’d feel exactly how he wanted to feel when writing Celestial.
