Women and Girls in Astronomy 2026 (IAU–OAO) – Day 4 brings together astronomy, environmental responsibility, and urban astrophotography in a global interactive session organized under the initiative of the International Astronomical Union in collaboration with the IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach. This session explores imaging planets from city skies, beginner telescope recommendations for astrophotography, understanding light pollution and the Bortle Scale, smart telescopes and imaging software, supernova imaging, and how black hole images are captured. The discussion also connects astronomy to environmental stewardship, climate awareness, and the protection of dark skies as a shared global responsibility.
