Engine GitHub: https://github.com/jaredx64/manta-engine Discord Server: / discord Twitch: / drumlin32 FAQ: What is this engine? 'Manta' is a cross-platform C++ hobby game engine that I've been working on for the past 2 years. Its primary goals are: Provide a simple library for creating games quickly Minimal reliance on external libraries/dependencies Abstraction layers for native, cross-platform compilation (Windows/Mac/Linux) Fast build & compile times for quick iteration FAQ: What does "No Libraries" mean? By No Libraries_, the engine _does not use the C++ STL, common frameworks like SDL or RayLib, or math libraries like GLM. Everything is written from scratch, including a custom build pipeline (so no CMAKE either). The engine even implements its own shader language and cross-compiler as part of the graphics abstraction layer. Of course I'm not writing my own operating system so the engine uses the OS supplied "libraries" for window creation, audio, threading, file i/o, etc., and for graphics DirectX/Metal/OpenGL depending on the target. This project was started for the challenge and educational purposes hence my arbitrary restrictions on library usage. The full source is available on the Github page. FAQ: VS Code Theme I don't have a specific VS Code theme. I've just been modifying the default settings over time. My settings.json: https://github.com/jaredx64/manta-eng...
