Hallo everyone and welcome to this second last part of this incredible journey through the Northern Cape. In this part we want to show you the unbelievable rocky terrain and beautiful yellow colors that this arid world produces. The landscapes change as we travel and captivated our souls. This is overlanding and it is a slow process but so worth doing. The Richtersveld part of the Namakwa 4x4 Eco Trail is more inland and away from the Orange river. It is also more about the rocky landscapes and incredible people who was placed here not by choice. To see happiness on faces means they have peace and is content. Leaving civilization and the river makes one feel slightly scared and outside our comfort zones. To feel gravel under the rubber of the tires is great. It means some sort of freedom, not bounded by rules and schedules. It is tough though but mind-blowing. These unbelievable plants with so much tenacity intrigue one. An early turn off took us up the hill and on a very rocky Jeep track. This is tough and crazy but exciting and we decided to keep going even though we soon realised that it might be wrong. Tracks4Africa however insisted that we are on the right trail. The relieve at the bottom of the downhill, was huge and when we saw the horses and where the real trail road connected, we started breathing again. Bakkranse is just around the corner.
