Transforming a Trash Lyre into an Instrument of the Gods!

In this presentation, I hope to demonstrate that with just a few carefully crafted accessories, it is possible to transform a trash lyre into an instrument worthy of the gods!! The lyre (the very same I first bought on eBay and which I taught myself to play on in 2006!), is my cheap, factory made modern evocation of the Biblical "Kinnor" by Mid East Ethnic Instruments - the 10 string lyre of my very own, very ancient Levite ancestors: https://www.mid-east.com/Mid-East-Kin... Although incredibly affordable, the thick soundboard, coupled with the thick, chunky bridge with brass bar (which actually acts as a mute!), results in a lyre which although can sound great when recorded and properly mixed and mastered, is really poor as a pure acoustic instrument. I have therefore experimented in improving this lyre, by the simple addition of some quality made accessories, hand-made by Luthieros - the specialist ancient Greek lyre makers in Thessaloniki, with whom I have been collaborating with since 2014: https://en.luthieros.com/ I added an authentic Luthieros lyre strap, known as a 'telamon' (a vast improvement on the strap I formerly used, lovingly crafed from a pair of my unknowning wife's nylon stockings!), a Luthieros carved wooden plectrum and a Luthieros carved wooden lyre bridge. The resulting improvements and the amazing possibilities of the hand-carved plectrum, can all hopefully heard in the improvisation which follows the introductory talk of this presentation!
