(MAXICRIB, Scottish country dancing instructions compiled by Reuben Freemantle) 'The Dundee Whaler' was danced during the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Region and Rotorua SCD Club's Queen's Birthday Weekend School in June 2017. The MC was Andrew Patterson. 'The Dundee Whaler' was danced at the ceilidh, so a programme was not available beforehand, and many there, including the newer dancers, would not have danced it before. Music was provided by the band Wild Heather, comprising Lynne Scott, Mary McDonald, Anne-Marie Forsyth and Sharlene Penman. The dance was held in the Western Heights High School hall, Rotorua, New Zealand.
