DO NOT HIRE GLASS SERVICES COMPANY in Port Angeles, Washington! Replacing the aluminum frame windows was a top priority for our home improvements when we purchased this 40-year-old house as our retirement home in Sequim, Washington. As new residents, we didn’t know how to find a reputable window installation contractor. Our new friends and neighbors told us about a home show being held the weekend of February 17-18, 2018 at Sequim High School, the 21st Annual Building, Remodeling and Energy Expo, which we attended. Here, we met a representative of Glass Services Company and scheduled an appointment for a free estimate. A few days later, Anastasia came out to our house and measured the south and east facing windows on the front side of our house that we wanted to replace, and then presented us with several affordable options. Initially, I was determined to replace the kitchen, dining room and living room windows with three bay windows to enhance the feeling of space in our small house. But, after living here for three months, we understood why the previous owners chose to install large picture windows – an unobstructed view of the Olympic Mountains. Glass Services recommended window replacements that qualified for a rebate from the Clallam County PUD. As you can see from this video, the installation team, James and Brandon did a good job. HOWEVER, not shown in this video are the flaws that we later discovered in all four windows, most importantly, the two picture windows. When I called Glass Services, eventually the owner himself, Ward came out to inspect the issues. After asserting that some window defects are to be expected, he finally agreed to replace the large living room picture window and to repair the smaller dining room picture window under the manufacture's warranty. Several weeks later, the windows were replaced by the same installation team. After washing the windows inside and out multiple times, we realized that the replaced windows were also flawed with marks and haze between the glass.
