As an American, getting permission to visit the base was challenging, but thanks to the incredible officers of 14 GTC, I was able to step back into the 80s, reliving the essence of my ‘army brat’ roots. Experience the salutes, the traditional ‘Namaste Madam’ greetings, the fierce Khukri dance, and the regimental marching band that make the Gorkhas not only some of the world’s fiercest soldiers but also the gentlest and most respectful.
