Grammy-winning folk legend Judy Collins first performed at the Pittsburgh-based International Poetry Forum reading series in 1966 and 1969. It was an honor welcoming her back in May 2025 to celebrate her new book of poetry, SOMETIMES IT’S HEAVEN. During her visit, Collins—who was one of the first artists to perform at the International Poetry Forum when it launched in 1966—read some poetry, reflected on her admiration for Pittsburgh, and discussed her friendships with other poet-musicians like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell. Collins was the headlining event of the 4th annual Greater Pittsburgh Festival of Books, which drew thousands of people to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh for a wonderful celebration of literature. Our nonprofit organization was honored to be one of the sponsors for this year’s festival. "[The International Poetry Forum] announces the timelessness of poetry." — Judy Collins ________________________________ The International Poetry Forum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
