Gloomy Fortress caves in! Sort of. And the hovergrot is out of action! Are the two problems related? Maybe. Either way, Grotbags needs a way to travel to the Pink Windmill, and Croc and Redford may be able to supply the solution. Also, Belouis Some - promoting his latest single, Some People - drops in to visit an old friend. (Whatever happened to that guy, anyway?) One of the songs sung is Cliff Richard's Nothing's Impossible, originally from the film The Young Ones, while the first dance is to an Earth, Wind and Fire instrumental called Rock That. On that subject, before anyone says anything: yes, those opening outfits make for two minutes of very uncomfortable viewing these days. Thankfully, this is very much the exception rather than the rule for the Pink Windmill Kids (compare and contrast the second song, for instance), so please don't judge them or the show too harshly based on that one routine. As for the original air date, I'm pretty sure that this is episode eight, as broadcast on Friday, 11th April, 1986. Meanwhile, look out for Catrina making an appearance from the North Rock School for Deaf and Blind Children in Australia. I was saddened to read earlier this week that Corona Theatre School - a decendant of Corona Stage School, which was where the kids for these shows learned their trade - looks in imminent danger of being closed: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-... What a real pity that would be if it's allowed to happen. I also couldn't help noticing that the principal quoted in the above story is one Mary Greco - a relative of our Joe, perhaps? Many thanks to Lindsay for lending me this tape. (Please remember that this is an off-air VHS recording, so don't go expecting 1080p HD quality. I'm fairly certain that this video isn't commercially available, and I've uploaded it for its historic interest only. That said, if you are a copyright holder and object, please don't hesitate to contact me.)
