Hi Dancers! I recently did a TikTok/Reel about this topic and had lots of questions so I thought I would do a more detailed video about this topic! Ultimately, I can’t give you a timeframe of how long it’ll take you to prepare for pointe as an adult. The only person who can give you this information is your ballet teacher or a dance physiotherapist or podiatrist. When we start ballet as an adult, our bodies are already formed from our experiences. As an adult ballet dancer myself, I understand what it is like to work with what you have in order to progress in ballet. This is why I’ve sought further education and am proudly Barre Body, Progressing Ballet Technique and Progressing Contemporary Technique certified. Unfortunately, adult ballet dancers don’t have the same opportunities as those who start as a child, so I’m here to change this and make ballet accessible for all!
