What are the best ways to deal with binge eating on a show prep diet or any other type of restrictive weight loss program? The term binge eating is applied in 2 ways, first the eating disorder term associated with bulemia and binge/purge cycle. The second would be on a very restrictive diet where perhaps a target weight or physical 'look' is required to compete. I am not an expert in eating disorders in that I do not have a degree in psychology or behavioural sciences. My experience is from the education I have given myself in reading around the subject or behavioural eating and my experience working with clients in nutrition. Therefore please do not take the information in this video as clinical advice more information to use if you can to improve your own behaviour. Show pre diets are tough and can be physically and mentally draining. The worst part about it is having to train on very low energy levels and with reduced carbohydrate intake that makes you cranky and susceptible to emotional eating. In this video I outline how to identify the root causes of your binge cravings and then a few of the methods that I've used with clients to combat those issues.
