The Niagara Frontier Chapter - NRHS, Brings You This Video Of Images Of The New York Central's 'Terrace' Line & Station In Downtown Buffalo. The New York Central used the Terrace Line to run its trains north from the original downtown Exchange Street Station in Buffalo until 1952, when the railroad finally (after a 23-year delay) opened the ‘new’ Exchange Street Station and re-aligned its route to the north. While Upper & Lower Terrace Streets still exists today, it is impossible to discern the route of the line or any evidence of the Terrace Station. These pictures were taken before the new alignment was put into service, the ‘new’ 1952 Exchange Street Station was opened and the Terrace trackage was removed.
