When I was on the path to achieving financial independence, I had a somewhat crazy savings rate of 70%-75% at one point. It was a very high savings rate because I was hyper-focused on achieving financial independence and being able to retire early. However, I have somewhat dramatically changed my mind about what the best savings rate is for achieving FI. I can tell you that I believe much more strongly in having more balance between spending and savings. Don't be too extreme in one direction or the other. Just as it is bad if you spend all the money you make without saving any of it, it can be just as bad if you barely spend any money and save too much of it.
