this Video is About Cavernous Sinus - a Dural venous sinus situated Lateral to Sella Turcica few cm in dimension but having important internal structure as 3rd ,4th, opthalmic and Maxillary nerve in lateral wall . and medially associated with internal carotid artery and Abducent nerve majorly draining to orbit and Eye ball by superior opthalmic , Inferior Opthalmic and central vein of Retina additionally superficial middle cerebral vein and Inferior cerebral vein too. communicating with other sinus by anterior and posterior channels , via superior petrosal sinus to transverse sinus . and via inferior petrosal sinus to internal jugular vein outside the cavity its communicates with pterygoid plexus via emissary vein of foramen ovale thrombosis may lead too 1. exophthalmos - due to hampered venous return from superior and inferior opthalmic vein 2. opthalmoplegia - due to 3rd, 4th, and 5th nerve 3. pappiledema - due to raised intracranial tension or central vein of retina 4. pain in orbit and eyeball due to - opthalmic nerve its external relations are important too.
