What an Amazing Elora Cataract Rail Trail Ride With the Boys

Today's ride was an amazing as I rode with my son Anthony and his good friend Dario. This is their longest ride so far, as we rode a total of 83km on mountain bikes. We started in Erin, Ontario and rode to Elora, Ontario via the Elora Cataract Trailway. We headed west rolling through the countryside. We rode on the hard packed gravel trailway which took us through to Belwood Lake and Fergus, Ontario. Once we reached Fergus, the trail ended and we had to ride on the road. We took a left turn and then an immediate right which brought us to a sign that directed us back to the trail. Once we arrived in Elora we stopped for a well deserved lunch at the Elora Brewing Company. We explored Elora briefly as we had a long ride ahead of us and the boys were getting tired. I'm so proud of them for finishing the ride. On the way back I was recording the ride, not paying attention and I ended on the ground - LOL. Thank God I was going slow, landed on the tall grass and what are the odds that I captured it on my GoPro. The Elora Cataract Trailway is a 47km long recreational rail trail between the town of Forks of the Credit and Elora. The former Canadian Pacific Railway line operated from 1880 until 1988. It is a very easy trail that is well marked but not to many places to stop, so it is important to bring your own water or snack, so you not get dehydrated. Regardless, it is truly worth it - as the ride is a lot of fun!
