Japanese language version at: • フォーエバー・フレンド(永遠の友だち) -- トレジャー・アティックHD BACKGROUND: -- “Treasure Attic” was a music and dramatic video series for children, produced between 1991 and 1996. The lead character is “Uncle Jim”, acting as friend, teacher, and mentor for his lovable & fun companions, the fluffy white canine “Peepers” and his intellectual little rabbit friend, “Bunny Bigword”. -- There were a total of 29 shows produced, with some shows being translated into as many as 17 languages and distributed worldwide. In some languages the translated dialog and songs were recorded as an audio track, and in other cases, subtitles were provided. The original distribution format was VHS video tape and eventually DVD. -- All of the shows are jam-packed with wholesome, fun, educational, creative entertainment, teaching by example good morals, loving & kind behavior, and showing a beautiful and orderly world. With distribution to a variety of cultures, the shows were primarily non-religious. Two shows, including this final “Forever Friend” episode were centered on or relate the Christmas message. WHY REMASTER? -- I did not work on the Show per se, but along with many other producers and composers did contribute several songs to the series. In fact, I arranged & produced (NOT composed) the opening Jingle for the show in October 1991. -- This high quality remastered version of “Forever Friend” is a personal project, in awe & respect for the dedication and the thousands of man-hours invested by the story creators, writers, counselors, researchers, camera men, video editors, music composers, main characters and the scores of folks who appeared in the videos, as well as the artists, set-builders, those who acquisitioned materials & scouted filming locations; the seamstresses, make-up team, cooks, drivers, teachers, caregivers and other supporters.--And not to forget the parents who “created” the sweet children who appear in abundance in the series. One glance at the kids' inspired, fresh, and vibrant faces, as well as the wholehearted participation of other young people is manifest evidence that something very good & special was happening in an atmosphere of camaraderie and cooperative living. -- For all the program’s original glory, video tapes and players are now nearly obsolete, and even DVD is used less and less. YouTube provides an opportunity to bring this timeless and happy program to a new young & needy generation, in a format familiar to them. -- Enjoy and share if you can!
