Free Mahmoud Khalil and Free Palestine Protest at Columbia University

3.14.25 | by Usman | MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, Manhattan- Pro Palestine demonstrators at Columbia University were out in full swing today to demand the release of student activist Mahmoud Khalil who was detained earlier this week and to demand the reinstatement of students involved in the Hamilton Hall situation last year. Reports also came out this afternoon that a second Columbia student involved in pro Palestine activism on campus was detained this time it was Leqa Korda who was taken into custody last night. Protests began at 12:30 PM followed by a Friday Jummah Islamic Prayer on front of the Broadway entrance. Protesters then marched around various parts of Columbia University affiliated building before ending in a public plaza. Protesters were not confrontational with police so no arrest but a news videographer for FOX 5(WNYW) had his camera gear stolen filming the march.
