Although a little frustrating as I couldn't catch him, it was so lovely to watch him flying and knowing that he will soon go back to the wild following a brief time in care. Leonard's nether regions sustained some minor damage during his tussel with the flypaper and as it is coming up to mating season we need to ensure his bits are fully operational before release. Insectivorous microbats are incredibly important in the maintenance of a healthy environment as they consume tonnes of insect pests every evening. Please don't use flypaper outside as it often traps non target species such as Master Leonard who is just trying to eke out a living consuming dangerous insects such as malaria borne mosquitoes that kill millions of people each year.
