Status of Iran's Nuclear Installations: There are no indications yet that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the Tehran Research Reactor, or other nuclear fuel cycle facilities were damaged or targeted. The IAEA has detected no changes in radiation levels. No radiological impact has been observed. Grossi appealed to all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid jeopardizing nuclear safety. He stated that several countries have nuclear power plants and research reactors in the region, making it essential to avoid further escalation. The IAEA is attempting to contact Iran's Atomic Energy Agency, but has not yet received a response. This is hampering nuclear verification. At Russia's request, a special/emergency meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors was held on March 2, 2026 (and regular meetings continue). The US-Israeli attacks were discussed, with Iran calling them a violation of the UN Charter and IAEA Statute.
