The Superior Hiking Trail is a 310 mile hike down the coast of Lake Superiors north shore in Minnesota. It's always been on my list of thru hikes to do as I've never heard anything bad about it, which is rare in the thru hiking world. So my partner and I came to Minnesota to see what it was all about! What we found is that it's likely one of the best autumn thru hikes you could ever do. With fun terrain, frequent towns, good scenery, amazing fall colors there's not much to really complain about! We took this opportunity to try some new gear and experience a new place in a more relaxed manner. I think for someone just getting into thru hiking, or wanting to hike the Appalachian Trail, there is no better hike out there at this length to get going.
