Gameplay involves hitting timed arrow keys in sync with the music, similar to Dance Dance Revolution, to deplete the opponent's health bar before they deplete yours. Originally released in 2020, it gained massive popularity through its Newgrounds release and has since seen official mobile ports and a full version in development. Friday Night Funkin': Mario's Madness (Also known as simply Mario’s Madness) is a Friday Night Funkin' (FNF) mod created and directed by Marco Antonio. Mario’s Madness (V1) was released on February 21, 2022, with only 7 songs. On December 22, 2023, Mario’s Madness (V2) was released, adding more characters, songs, and worlds. With 28 songs in total, the mod was put on hold on December 29, 2024[1]. Another update is coming soon, called Mario's Madness V2: Resauce[2], an upcoming Deluxe update, and an upcoming V3 mod, and it is made with Psych Engine. In the mod, Boyfriend and Girlfriend have to rap battle many creepy, bootleg, or unsettling versions of Mario's. At the end, the protagonists die, unlocking a bonus song.
