How tough is Helvellyn on a Mountain Bike? The final day of our 3 days riding in the Lakes and we saved the best until last! Incredible Climbs, amazing views and a brutal descent. If you ride a mountain bike then this should be on your bucket list! We were very lucky with the weather for the time of year, so calm and clear. You could hear a pin drop at the top! It's a tough 6 mile climb with a mixture of riding, pushing and carrying the bike so make sure you have enough hydration and fuel for the journey. Some very challenging but rewarding sections on the descent, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. To date, my most memorable ride and highly recommended if you get the opportunity.
