Shooting Film & Digital in Alaska | GW690 III, EOS-1 & X-T5 Alaska is a dream destination for any photographer, so I packed my Fujifilm GW690 III for medium format, my Canon EOS-1 for 35mm, and my Fujifilm X-T5 as a backup digital option. I shot a mix of film stocks to capture the stunning landscapes: 120 Film: ▪️ Portra 400 ▪️ Phoenix 200 (rated at 100) ▪️ Ektar 100 ▪️ Lomography Color ’92 400 35mm Film: ▪️ Cinestill 800 ▪️ Portra 400 Despite running into a “fat roll” issue on one of my 120 rolls—causing some minor light leaks—everything turned out great. My wife and kids had an amazing time, and between visiting a reindeer farm, dog sledding through the snow, and exploring the incredible landscapes, this trip was packed with unforgettable moments. I originally brought the X-T5 as a backup, but I ended up really liking a lot of the digital shots I got with it. I didn’t edit any of the film or digital photos, letting the colors and tones speak for themselves. The X-T5 shots were all taken using an Ektachrome film simulation recipe, which gave them a beautiful, classic look straight out of camera. Shooting film in Alaska was a dream, and I can’t wait to share the results! #FilmPhotography #MediumFormat #GW690III #35mmFilm #FujifilmXT5 #Ektachrome #Alaska #Cinestill800 #Portra400 #ShootFilmStayBroke
