I’ve got 3 tips to share that will make your experience more successful! 1. make sure you’re using an appropriate film sensitivity. I am using an 800 ISO film for this photo shoot. 2. push process your film. Whether you’re developing in your own lab or sending it out to be processed professionally, you can “push” the film during development to recover your highlights and preserve your shadows. 3. think about where you’re pointing your spot meter. I meter the brightest area of my scene and make that my highlight reading. If you try to meter in the shadows or find middle gray, you’ll likely get a bad reading.
