Pressure on the orbital contents can be due to various causes. Sinus disease, fungal sinusitis, tumours within the sinuses or in the nasal cavity, polyposis etc can cause an erosion of the communicating wall between the orbit and the nasal sinuses as a result of which it can cause pressure causing symptoms within the eye. The eye ball can be pushed outwards, pushed forwards or there can be pain in the eye region or there can be compression of the nerve causing reduction of blood flow and causing human blindness in some patients, there can be seen some erosion in causing injury to the optic nerve. So these are the problems caused due to optic or orbital compressions. But that can also be related in the early stages very well by doing endoscopic surgery. You go into the sinuses, clear out the sinuses, take out the communicating wall and reduce the pressure in the orbit thereby giving relief to the patient and less pressure to the eye, the eye balls and the nerves and the blood vessels that supply the nerves, thereby saving vision for the patient.
