Bench resting a Württemberg Jägerbüchse M/60, featuring a set trigger. Unfortunately due to limited range time and a persistant gusting wind plus light variations, filming had to be hurried resulting with some footage being spoiled by the lens cover being blown partly accross the lens. The adjustable set trigger was to allow the rifleman the option of a steady precision shot and when set alleviated any negative movement when applying pressure on the trigger. For a less precise or a hurried shot the rifle was fired with the standard trigger. An amount of Jägerbüchse M/60 rifles were converted to the Dreyse needle ignition system, the Württembergishes Zündnadel-jägerbüchse M/60. The bullet had three cannelures and a conical hollow base with a truncated cone plug for expansion. Bullet diameter 13.9 mm, weight 27.5. Powder charge of 4 grams. With said powder charge, chrongraph recorded velocity @ 15 ft: 1024 fps - 312 mps. A brief test was conducted loading with fixed bayonet, this made loading difficult due to the close proximity of the blade to the muzzle. The rifle would have been loaded without sabre bayonet fixed and then attached when threatened with an infantry or cavalry assault. The Württemberg M/60 yatagan sabre bayonet was not fitted with the usual brass grip comonplace with continental yatagan examples. G and L A-R-West
