Recovery Tips for Cosmetic Breast Surgery Recovery after breast surgery is very important to deliver you fantastic term results🤗🎉👙!!! First, if you had surgery with another surgeon I recommend you follow their post operative instructions. This video is meant for patients of mine who we’ve done a breast reshaping surgery such as a breast lift, breast reduction, or breast implant surgery. Post operative care is important as I am using anchoring sutures to your muscle on the inside of the breast. First Two Weeks - No reaching or pulling with our arms. I tell patients elbows right by your sides or trex arms 🦖! No lifting more than 10 pounds. Most patients will take a week off work depending on their jobs. If you work form home, it may be less, but if you are nurse moving patients it may be a full two weeks. Most patients are fine to drive after three to five days, but you must be off pain medication and feel comfortable driving. Weeks 2-4 - At this time you can start doing some reaching and pulling just don't overdo it. You can lift up to about 35 pounds. Weeks 4 - 6 - At Week 4, we can start walking for exercise and at week five we can start stationary bicycle without the arms. Weeks 6+ - Can start more intense cardio and heavy lower body weight lifting and slowly work back up to your normal activity level. In some cases there may be some long-term activity restrictions like limiting pectoral muscle use. Scar Care - Typically I recommend using silicone-based scar tape that we usually start with patients somewhere between the the second to fourth week. I recommend doing taping for at least two months and you can do anger if you prefer. Check out our other videos on our YouTube channel - / @alamoplasticsurgery for more helpful content. We love to hear from patients so DM us with any other questions!
