In vocal cord polyp the most common symptom is change in voice. The voice can be commonly heard or commonly seen as hoarseness. In any case the voice can be of a different frequency, different pitch and generally can be seen as a change in voice character. In singers we see that high notes are not been picked up. So any change of voice quality is seen as one of the symptoms of vocal cord polyp. Rarely pain specially when speaking for long time, rarely cough. But in any case you have voice change and you have a doubt that it is vocal cord polyp it is imperative to see your ENT physician as soon as possible.
