ITOMAGOI sono San is the 13th move of the Okuden Tachiwaza set of advanced techniques taught in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu and Muso Shinden Ryu Iaijutsu. This move consists in cutting an opponent while bowing to him. There are 3 versions of it, depending upon how much of the bowing has been achieved. In Itomagoi sono San, the bow has been completed and the hands are coming back up from the floor onto the thighs when one initiates the cut. This video is one of a set of compilations of clips from films shot during the 20th century of several Japanese masters demonstrating their Art. Some of the masters featured in these compilations are: Kono Hyakuren / 河野百錬 (1898 – 1974) MJER Yamamoto Harusuke (1892–1978) MJER Nakayama Hakudō / 中山 博道 (1872 – 1958) MSR Omori Masao (1911 – 2006) MJER Hakuo Sagawa (1917 – 2004) MSR Junichi Haga (1908 - 1966) MSR Haruna Matsuo / 春名松男 (1926-2002) MJER Nagae Matasaburo (1910 - ) MSR Iwata Norikazu (1913 – 2011) MJER Note : MJER : Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu; MSR : Muso Shinden Ryu I was not able to identify all of the masters featured in these videos. Your input would be appreciated. Some of them practiced under Oe Masamichi, founder of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, and Nakayama Hakudo, founder of Muso Shinden Ryu, is featured in a few of these compilations.
