Perhaps the only reading John ever gave outside Canada, and at time of posting, perhaps the only one of his readings online at all. (Also available on YouTube in a version with a soundscape, which John encouraged me with the creation of back in 2006.) John died in October 2024. In my last email from him, in June, he wrote: "But I don't really live with the expectation of being heard. It's as rare as a bicycle across the moon." And John again, from an email to me in November, 2006, referencing the soundscape version I was slowly working on, which also featured Kemeny Babineau and myself, and which we called Buffalo Wings. "there's so much vid out there" John meant a lot to me, and I'll miss him. This is an unedited version of the recording by Nick Schwartzmyer. The reading was organized by Kevin Thurston.
