Voltalia - Karavasta Project - Work Progress September 2022

Karavasta photovoltaic park is in full swing! Early July, construction works started and now 75% of the preparatory works have already been completed. With 140 MW of capacity, the plant will occupy 196 hectares with a total of of 241,400 bifacial solar panels and will produce 265GWh annually. To ensure the safety of the local communities and the ongoing works, the 10 km-perimeter is almost completely fenced. the plant will also have 2 km of access roads and 4.1 km of secondary channels. Voltalia is proud of this project that will be the largest photovoltaic plant in the Western Balkans and anticipates that in September 2023 it will start producing energy, allowing the supply of energy to more than 220,000 Albanian families and will avoid the emission of more than 96,500 tons of CO2. Together with Albania, for a more diversified electricity mix and paving the way to more energy independence.
