I recently purchased this 2004 Volvo V70R sight unseen off eBay Motors in as-is condition for what I thought was the deal of a lifetime. From the photos, it looked like a well-maintained example, but when I arrived to pick it up, I quickly realized this car was far worse than it appeared online. I figured it was just another used wagon needing some minor attention, but getting it back to the garage proved that someone had owned something really special and let it fall into serious neglect. It has the legendary turbocharged inline-5 engine with the factory Brembo brakes, electronic limited slip differential, Four-C adjustable suspension, and from the looks of it, a special six speed manual transmission. It even came with the factory third row seat and the equally rare factory navigation system. But unfortunately, the Florida heat had taken its toll on the electronics and the navigation screen was completely shattered. I had problems getting it running because someone else had been working on it prior to my purchase and it needed some careful repairs, but the issues only started there. It fired up and drove with some effort, the engine still had that iconic turbo-five rumble, but the car needs a lot more work to be properly road worthy again, and in this video, I'll get it all sorted out.
