Minecraft: "Aria Math" | Percussion Arrangement

"Aria Math", composed by Daniel "C418" Rosenfield for "Minecraft", arranged and performed by Adam Inouye. Howdy folks! It's been a while, but I'm excited to share the first video of 2022, "Aria Math" from Minecraft! This was a super fun arrangement to work on. I've wanted to do a piece in a more minimalist manner, and the Minecraft score seems like it lends itself quite well to this. I took the repeating ostinato originally played on steel pan and used it as the starting point for many different elements of the chart, and even Steve Reich-ed it a little bit with the marimbas haha. Recording-wise, most of the parts of this were done via midi on my Malletstation. Still experimenting with different sounds and plug-ins to get a professional tone out of all the elements of the piece, but I think overall it sounds alright.
