Here is a simple and healthy Alsi Pinni / Alsi ke Laddu (Flaxseed, Nuts & Dates Balls) recipe — no refined sugar, very nutritious, and great for winters or energy snacks. ⸻ Ingredients • 1 cup Flax seeds (Alsi) • ½ cup Mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios — any) • 1 cup Soft dates (khajoor) – seeds removed • 2–3 tbsp Desi ghee • 2 tbsp Grated coconut (optional) • ½ tsp Cardamom powder (elaichi) • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (til) – optional ⸻ Preparation Steps 1. Roast Flax Seeds • Heat a pan on low–medium flame. • Dry roast flax seeds for 4–5 minutes until they start popping slightly. • Let them cool, then grind into a coarse powder (not too fine). 2. Roast Nuts • In the same pan, lightly roast all nuts for 2–3 minutes. • Cool and chop or pulse coarsely in a mixer. 3. Prepare Dates Paste • add 3 tablespoons water • Mash them into a paste. 4. Mix Everything • Add ground flaxseed, nuts, coconut, sesame seeds, almond powder all nuts powder and cardamom powder to the dates. • Add remaining ghee. • Mix well on low heat for 1–2 minutes until everything binds. 5. Make Laddus / Balls • Turn off heat and let mixture cool slightly. • Grease palms with little ghee. • Take small portions and roll into round laddus. ⸻ Tips • If mixture feels dry → add 1 tsp warm ghee. • If too sticky → add a little more nut powder or flax powder. • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks (refrigerate for longer). ⸻ Benefits: Rich in omega-3, fiber, iron, and natural energy.
