The video captured our 2-day trip in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. What impressed me the most was the cleanliness and excellent metropolitan planning of the city. I wish we had had more time at Taipei to explore more places and corners of this amazing city. Our trip took place at the end of February 2020 when the pandemic was hitting hard in China, Japan, and South Korea. Normally, people would go to Shifen first then Shifen Waterfall, and finally to Jiufen. From Taipei Main Station, you can travel to Shifen using TRA Train to Ruifang Station, then buy the combo ticket (80 TWD) of Pingxi Line to go to Houtong Cat Village and Shifen. Shifen is a street that lies on two sides of the railway and is famous for the sky lantern release. This place was also featured in the renowned Taiwanese movie "You are the apple of my eye". From Shifen you may go to Jiufen by either bus or taxi. The second option is recommended for people going in group as it's cheaper and more time-efficient. If you have watched the Japanese anime "Spirited Away", it's not hard to recognize that the village in the movie bears a strong resemblance to Jiufen Old Street. There are a lot of mystical corners hidden in the village that you should take time to explore. After a tour, it's great to sit down and have a hot cup of tea while watching the village slowly shift to night mode. Also, remember to mind the time as the last bus to Taipei departs at around 18:30.
