Anywhere between mid upper arm and elbow. Hold your arms out to the sides and measure the straight line from one arm, where you want the sleeve to finish, across your shoulders and to the other arm where you want the sleeve to finish. •Next, measure from your collar bone, down to where you want the top to finish. •Add 1" - 1.5" seam allowances to both measurements. •Cut two square/rectangles using these measurements. •Hem all four sides of both squares. • Pin the shoulders together, ensuring you leave a generous hole for your neck and head. Approximately 25cm works for me, but check before you sew, to be sure it won't fall off your shoulders etc and that your head will fit through etc. •Sew the shoulders. •Decide how big you want your arm holes to be. (20cm is about right for me. But check yours to be sure.) •Sew your side seams from the edge of the arm hole down to the hem. ♡Style how you like, with a belt or a French tuck etc. ♡For future makes, you can consider adding trim to the hem or arm holes, or even waist ties. ●How to make a gathered skirt •Measure your waist and hip circumference. •Measure how long you want the skirt to be. •Add 1 or 2" seam allowance to the length measurement. •Cut two pieces of fabric, each the width of your hip circumference x the desired length. •Cut one of these pieces in half to allow for a zip to be fitted in the back. You should now have one piece that is your hip measurement wide x desired length and two pieces that are half your hip measurement wide x desired length. •Cut one length of fabric that is your waist circumference x 4" wide. •Sew your three large pieces together in this order... half size, full size, half size. This entire piece should measure 2 x your hip circumference. •Now gather the top of the skirt. Using your machine or by hand, sew one or two long lines of stitches approx 1cm down from the top of the skirt. Gather the stitches, so that the top of the skirt is now the same length as the waist band. •Attach the waist band. •Attach the zip and sew the back seam. •Hem the skirt.
