During UNESCO International Conference: “News Organizations standing up for media professionals” at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Christiane Amanpour, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Freedom of Expression, called on media organizations to step up efforts to ensure journalists’ safety around the world and end impunity of crimes against journalists. Christiane Amanpour expressed her views on the role of the journalistic community to give true and objective information, build a stronger civil society and the obligation of media organizations to protect media professionals in high-risk environments.
