Network Q RAC Rally Championship aka Rallye Racing 97 aka Rally Championship: International Off-Road Racing was made by Magnetic Fields and published by Europress Software in 1996. Network Q RAC Rally Championship is a rally computer game that is part of the Rally Championship series and a sequel to Network Q RAC Rally (1993). The game was released for MS-DOS in 1996. It was developed by British studio Magnetic Fields and published by Europress. An expansion pack, The X-Miles, was released in 1997. It added 10 new tracks and an arcade mode. A sequel was also released in 1997, called International Rally Championship. Source: Wikipedia Review by Jonas Walter: The amount of detail in this game is outstanding and for 1996 the graphics are excellent. There are 26 tracks all recreated from real life. With this many tracks and many different conditions to race in there were many options available which meant you didn't have to do the same race twice. Many game modes are available (arcade, championship, time trial etc) There are six cars and each have their own different handling abilities which also adds depth to the game. The Bad Not much wrong with this one at all. One minor gripe would be the border at the edge of each track. Unlike games later in the series in this one who can only race on the actual track. So if you come up to a corner too fast, you cannot overun onto the grass but usually end up hitting the border and turning over. The Bottom Line Overall this is an excellent rally simulation and the graphics and detail are outstanding considering the game came out in the mid-90s.
