EP Desk Beging, 7 feb 2026: A thanksgiving programme was organised at Beging Dere to celebrate the unopposed victory of Shri Nonong Jamoh as Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) from Rebo-Perging constituency. The programme witnessed the presence of senior leaders, community members, and youth from different parts of the Adi belt. Addressing the gathering, ZPM Nonong Jamoh stated that the programme was a simple get-together with light refreshments, organised mainly to know each other and to express gratitude. Reflecting on his political journey, he recalled that during the 2020 Panchayat elections, he was prepared to contest and had sought a party ticket but was advised by Minister Ojing Tasing to wait patiently for the next term. Respecting the guidance, he waited, and his patience paid off with his victory this year. He also acknowledged the contribution of his ground team that has been working with him since 2018–2020, stating that he would always work as a team and never abandon those who stood by him. He urged people to trust the team, which includes individuals qualified in education, entrepreneurship, and senior government service, to guide developmental planning. He thanked the people for electing him unopposed, calling it a mandate of unity and trust. Minister Ojing Tasing, while addressing the gathering, expressed concern that development projects in the Adi belt are often opposed or not accepted by the people. He urged the community to change this mindset and allow development initiatives to move forward. Stressing the need for employment generation, he said that development projects can create jobs for local youth if properly supported and implemented. Senior leader Tapir Gao, in his address, laid strong emphasis on the importance of education, sports, and overall social development. Citing recent engineering examination results, he said that out of 36 posts, only one candidate was from the Adi community, urged Adi youths to work harder and come forward in competitive fields. Speaking on sports, Tapir Gao mentioned that the government recently provided around ₹3 crore in incentives to medalists, He urged Adi youths to give equal importance to sports and games, stating that discipline and dedication can open many opportunities for the future. He further spoke about how society as a whole can be developed by the Adi community and strongly criticised the tendency of denying development. Highlighting the concern. Addressing the youth directly, Tapir Gao called upon them to prepare for the future with focus, discipline, and responsibility, stating that development, education, and sports together shape a strong society.
