What is a Therapeutic Classroom?

You might have seen our photos online, heard about us from another school or teacher or just stumbled upon us on google. But what is a therapeutic classroom? These rooms are not just a fad, or a trend. We believe they are the future of education, underpinned by neuroscience , childhood trauma and attachment theory and centred around the mental health and wellbeing needs of children today. It is easy to overlook the importance of the environment but we have seen huge impacts on children's attendance, behaviour, concentration, relationship skills, communication skills and outcomes in schools who have transformed their rooms with us. Environment can make a big difference to children and teachers. This short video will explain the ethos and approach behind our rooms! *NOTE: Some of the furniture shown in this footage is from our first pilot classrooms. Our approach has now evolved and we longer use these items.
