The Grass Men II

In the midst of a growing climate crisis the need for sustainable farming knowledge is imperative. A prison rehabilitation project teaches the healing potential of working with nature to incarcerated individuals at Her Majesty's Prisons and Belle Isle Correctional Facility in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Grass Men II is the second film in a series chronicling the prisoner rehabilitation project pioneered and executed by Vincentian artist and educator Vonnie Roudette. The first film deals with making grass crafts out of vetiver grass, and The Grass Men II deals with the actual planting of the grass itself. Vetiver grass is known to have massive benefits to soil regeneration and soil protection. This is all explained by one of the project's beneficiaries, Rod Lewis, who hails from the village of Sandy Bay. This instructional documentary can serve as a guide for anyone interested in planting vetiver grass, or making their own vetiver nursery.
