In this video we set out to answer a question shooters argue about all the time: Do ported and compensated pistols actually reduce recoil? Rather than relying on opinions, we decided to measure it. Using slow motion footage and recoil angle analysis, four shooters fired both a stock Kimber 2K11 and a ported + compensated 2K11 to see how much muzzle rise actually changed. Across multiple shooters we consistently measured 30–50% reductions in muzzle rise with the modified pistol. While this is not a sponsored video, the custom work on Spencer’s pistol was performed by TDS Gunworks, and they clearly did an excellent job. Check out TDS Gunworks: @tds_gunworks We’d love to hear what you think. Were you surprised by the results? Does this change how you think about porting or compensating your pistol? And the big question I’m still debating… Should I send my M&P 2.0 to TDS Gunworks to get the same treatment? Sound off in the comments. Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you on the range. #PortedPistol #Compensator #RecoilTest #Kimber2K11 #PistolMods #Handgun #ShootingTest #TacticalMisfits #GunTesting #RangeScience
